Some Loops no longer working/appearing

Hi,

I was trying to record something into Garageband recently and realized several Loops wouldn't play. When clicked, a window popped up telling me "The Software instrument or Apple Loop selected is not currently installed..." giving me options to either download now, download later, or install from the CD. When I closed that window and tried to play the Loop again, it popped up a window saying it was being installed.

When I looked on the hard drive, all of my Apple Loops were installed. But when I clicked on the admin folder (the one with the house icon) there was nothing in the Audio folder in the Library. I installed all of the Jam Pack Loops when I first got Logic, and they all worked then. This is the first time I've noticed any missing loops.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Torea

On the advice of my Dad, I looked up rebuilding the library and found this - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3443 - it didn't seem to work at first, but then when I clicked on one of the previously unusable loop titles, it gave me a prompt asking if I wanted to reindex the library. I did and it worked out fine. At first, it doubled all of the loops, which might be a problem of space but I think the reindexing fixed it. It got rid of all my doubles.

Oh, and I also removed the "Apple Loops Index" folder from the trash and put it back to where it was before. I did that BEFORE I was prompted to reindex the library. Not sure if I was supposed to but it seems to be working now =) Good luck with yours
