Some observations i've noted from alot of articles on macrumors, this site and various blogs on MBP with SSD & from my own installation experience.
* Installation of OSX via USB is flaky, like nearly 2/3 chance of failure during installation.
* When booting it shows the spinning icon for a very long period before becoming the exclamation mark folder, signifying that no HDD found
* When SSD is installed in the HDD bay and trying to install OSX via onboard DVDROM to external HDD, the process is very long; perhaps maybe due to MBP "seeing" the SSD but not knowing what to do with it?
* When booting from another OSX installation, MBP can see and detect the SATA2 SSD perfectly and displays speed as 3G. Some folks have mentioned those information is just information dump from the SSD itself and does not represent the MBP's capabilities.
* Alot of information is pointing that MBP 2010 is not SATA2 capable?
I'm trying the few work-arounds of install to HDD > CCC back to SSD, copy OSX installation image to flash and then install to SSD. So far all have ended up in failures during installation process.
Work around from SSD manufacturer :

Lots of frustration. Or maybe I should try the SSD with my 1st gen intel MBP?
So what advice would you guys give? Or should i just sell off my barely 3mths old MBP + SSD and switch to a MBA? 😉
