How do I get my image to fit to frame in the Canvas? Is there a a simple keyboard command or menu item to do this?
After a manipulation the picture overlaps and gives me the vertical and horizontal sliders.
I'm not sure if you're asking how to scale the image to fit the Canvas display area, or if you're asking how to adjust the Canvas display size.
For scaling the image, double-click the clip to load it into the Viewer then click on the Motion tab. Use the Scale control to size the image as needed. Or you can set the Canvas to Image+Wireframe mode and drag at one corner to resize.
For adjusting the Canvas display, use the drop-down menu near the top of the window to set the size.
Sorry for being such an FCP 101 freshman but most terms you use are not familiar to me yet.
I need to find the command that simply gives me the full image fitting the standard frame in the Canvas.
As it is after a mistaken operation, I now have sliders on the left and right because the image is bigger than the canvas frame... so, I don't see the whole picture...
Apologies... I just found that I did not see that the top item in the drop menu was what I was looking for ...live and lezarn the simplest things. Thanks.
Incidentally is there a way to gice a simple command for to view the Canvas window in full screen?
Shift+Z is what you're looking for. Does a Fit To Window in Viewer, Canvas, and Timeline windows.
In Auido/Video Settings (FCP menu), make sure video playback is set to Digiral Cinema Desktop, then use Cmd+F12 to get full screen playback. Space bar and JKL keys work in this mode, too. Use Esc key to get out of full screen mode.
Also, Cntrl+U will bring you back to factory default window layouts. I have a feeling you'll be needing that on occasion, also.
