    Did you get any reward?

As of now, I haven't been contacted by anybody (not the airport where it was lost, not the owner through my Apple report).
I thought the same about unlocking it, that it would wipe all the data? That is, if the owner hasn't remotely wiped it already when he was he wasn't getting it back after days.

If I don't get any call/email later, I will call Apple back and make sure they got my email right.

Those are almost certainly referring to jailbreaking the device, not unlocking a passcode.

Surely if your dad found the iPad in an airport the logical thing to do would be to hand it in at the customer services desk, which is the first place someone is likely to check if they'd lost something?

I think there are macGeeks could break that passcode to reach the owner,, yes its all in the name of loyality and morals.

Richard, yeah that would have been logic. They were boarding, he walked around the waiting room showing the ipad hoping that someone would claim it; then he told the boarding attendants but they didn't take it, and he didn't have time to go to lost and found. He was hoping he could find the owner on the plane, but then he figured that anybody could have claimed it as theirs... he is not very tech savvy, he had no idea what he had in his hands, and he didn't speak the language. So he figured that once home, after getting a power supply, someone could look into it, figure out an email address, a name...

still no answer from anybody, but my sister found a sticker on the back of the ipad with a company website. I called the company, they said they will check if someone lost an ipad traveling through Amsterdam, and will get back to me

Very nice of you to be so diligent in trying to see that the iPad is returned to the owner. But, like finding a lost wallet, if the original owner does not come forward or can not be found after a certain amount of time...say a few weeks......then enjoy your new iPad!

Fetta and Robert, good for you!! You are both good people. You deserve all the good Karma that comes your way. Too many others would simply keep the found items for themselves. You've helped me take a big step towards restoring my faith in humanity. Thank you.

Fetta, It's been over a year now

To be correct, just under 3 months, not a year.

1 December 2010 (original post) to now 23 February 2011 = 55 days, which is not "over a year".
And the iPad has not been released for "over a year now".

If we're only using years (without months or days), then it has been one year.

You are responding to a thread that is 10 months old. Don't you think it might be a little late to take your advice now?
