iPhone sync conflict

Since installing the latest software update on to my iPhone I have had a problem with syncing. I didn't have this problem before.
I get a pop-up from 'conflict resolver' saying there are 468 conflicts between my outlook calendar and iPhone. However, when I try to go through these, it always fails with an error message 'Cannot access Conflicts: Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server. Please try again next time the conflict resolver window is presented'. This happens every time and I am not able to complete resolving the conflicts.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to resolve this?

Hi all,

I also had this problem, but only with reoccuring calendar items that appeared to have different dates as "exceptions" to the reoccuring appointment. I tried the solutions mentioned including closing Outlook and syncing and changing the name of the "synconflicts" file. Neither of these solutions helped. I've been on the phone for 2.5 hours with Apple and they know it's a corrupted file somewhere but can't find it. They said they'd research more and get back to me.

I had already tried deleted the whole calendar on my iPhone 5 and synced and that didn't solve it. The message just came back. I started playing around and went to Outlook and made a new reoccuring appt. for 4 weeks on the same day the error showed was the day of the conflicting appt. Then I synced again to my iPhone. Voila! No sync conflict error messages! I've synced again and still good.

I've printed this thread out so when it happens again (which it will), I'll be ready! Yea!

Hi team,

Sorry this link seems so long ago ... but I'm so frustrated with this whole thing now... my iphone 4gs & ipad has been syncing no problems until 2 weeks ago. First it was not syncing the contacts from Outlook 2007 but I have no resolved this.

I have spent the past 2 days trying to find something that will now allow me to sync my calendar with my iphone & ipad - I cannot simply over ride my phone calender as this is more up to date that my PC calender.

The error message I get is:

Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server

Please try again next time the conflict resolver window is presented

Apple want $39 bucks for a service call or online chat ... are you kidding me ... I'm looking at other options for my next upgrade I can tell you that right now as it just seems that every time there's an upgrade of the software there are issues ... and I don't have the time to spent on this stuff ... I need a product that will consistently work ... Samsung is looking rather promising right now..!!!

OK, that's me done venting... can anyone offer me with a simple solution to get this sorted out...

iPhone 6 and all up to date on the iOS and iTunes versions. I'm also having this problem.

"Conflict Resolver - There are XXX sync conflicts." Then "Unable to retrieve conflict information from the sync server. Please try again next time the conflict resolver window is presented."

It seems to affect over 300 appointments and 2 contacts, one of which is the one containing my own details!

Thank you, Gator5000e.

A series of sync snafus, restore from backups, new iOS and iTunes installations resulted in 300+ conflicts popping up with Conflict Resolver each and every time I synced my iPhone 6S or iPad Air 2. Then the Conflict Resolver would freeze up when I told it to resolve via Outlook 2010 for Windows, then the Conflict Resolver couldn't communicate with the server, try again later. More of a nuisance than anything but what a nuisance!

Apple Support = useless. Five years ago when you first posted this, they probably could have helped. Now they only offer two things each and every time you call = reboot, and reinstall. I honestly wind up telling them what I think might work and I can hear their nods of indifference over the phone. It's pretty sad. On this particular issue, I have been getting NOWHERE. Googling and Googling, all roads pointed towards your post here. So I decided, why not? Take a chance, what's the worst that can happen? More time spent on the phone telling Apple Support how to not fix my issues.

Several syncs on both devices later, it SEEMS to be working. On the very first sync of the iPad after renaming the file, the Conflict Resolver popped up with only 75 conflicts instead of 300, and it actually LET me select Outlook to resolve and it resolved, and saved, and synced, I was shocked. So right now, knock on a big time piece of wood, so far, so good.

Five years later, this post is still relevant and helpful. I would go as far as saying that it is the ONLY thing out there that works.

Thank you, again, Gator5000e.
