Thank you, Gator5000e.
A series of sync snafus, restore from backups, new iOS and iTunes installations resulted in 300+ conflicts popping up with Conflict Resolver each and every time I synced my iPhone 6S or iPad Air 2. Then the Conflict Resolver would freeze up when I told it to resolve via Outlook 2010 for Windows, then the Conflict Resolver couldn't communicate with the server, try again later. More of a nuisance than anything but what a nuisance!
Apple Support = useless. Five years ago when you first posted this, they probably could have helped. Now they only offer two things each and every time you call = reboot, and reinstall. I honestly wind up telling them what I think might work and I can hear their nods of indifference over the phone. It's pretty sad. On this particular issue, I have been getting NOWHERE. Googling and Googling, all roads pointed towards your post here. So I decided, why not? Take a chance, what's the worst that can happen? More time spent on the phone telling Apple Support how to not fix my issues.
Several syncs on both devices later, it SEEMS to be working. On the very first sync of the iPad after renaming the file, the Conflict Resolver popped up with only 75 conflicts instead of 300, and it actually LET me select Outlook to resolve and it resolved, and saved, and synced, I was shocked. So right now, knock on a big time piece of wood, so far, so good.
Five years later, this post is still relevant and helpful. I would go as far as saying that it is the ONLY thing out there that works.
Thank you, again, Gator5000e.
