Q: Macbook Pro problem : MacBook Pro EFI-Firmware-Update 1.9

I've experienced some trouble with my macbook pro, actually this is my problem :
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3423?viewlocale=en_US
But when I follow the steps aka download the firmware, I get a announcement: "This software is not supported by your system". But I'm absolutely sure that the description matches my problem, I have an Macbook Pro 15" dated July 2010. I also checked my EFI Boot ROM or SMC firmware version:
- Modell-Identifizierung: MacBookPro6,2
- Boot-ROM-Version: MBP61.0057.B0C
- SMC-Version (System): 1.58f16
What could be the problem? Are there other solutions?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Call up AppleCare and speak with a tech.

    Hello Juniper,
    Did you solve your problem?
A have exactly the same problem, a "rare" issue causing the MacBook to simply stop responding.
My one was bought in May/2010, my Boot ROM version is MBP61.0057.B0C, so it should also run this firmware update 1.9, but I receive the same message that it is not supported.
I'd appreciate if you could tell what you did to solve your problem, if so.

    Thanks

    Simmular problem

It suddenly can just go blank poef black:(

And it can also work for a few days

    restarting can go multiple ways

1- power up and it does nothing no beeps just a sleeping light.

2- It starts beeping 3 short 3 long 3 short

3- it does the same as above and keeps repeating

4- it does the the same and shuts down

5- i am not going to bore you with all the ways it does not work.

It is almost making me trow this macbook tru the room. (that can maby solve the problem)

when i do ill put a video link in the next post:)

I have no apple care and i have to go to the store and before you can go there

you have to make a apointment:) and after a while it starts to get frustrating becouse this issue is

    taking so mutch time.

The issue started early in the beginning when i just bought it.

And becouse it was a new mashine i thought must be the early bugs.

And it was just A ones in a month thing.  (yes my mac is a woman i cant understand it).

So finaly after alot of rotten apple i went to the mac store becouse the guarantee was almost ending.

And yeeeeeey they fixed it a brand new motherboard! I was as happy as i could be.

But now the problem accours all the time.

So i went back to the store they did a test and every thing was ok but maybe the memmorie was not good they

    said.

So i aranged to put in other memory. The 1 from apple. 2x 2 gig

    Still the same problem.

I also tried with the newest osx on a different HD

    Also the same problems!

Who knows what this can be?

So what has this to do with a two year old post about firmware update 1.9?

Then perhaps it doesn't need it.
