Does clear nail polish work to get scratches out?

I've been looking around for some solutions to the scratches on my iPod video screen. All the creams seem to cost like $30, so I was wondering, can I use clear nail polish to fill in the scratches like you do with a scratched watch face?

Thanks.

you know what, that is such a good idea.
im' pretty sure the screen of the ipod is made out of acrylic as well as most clear nail polish are acrylic based.

if you ask me, it cna't hurt. only problem is getting the surface to a perfect smooth top. and if you do mess it up, you can always use nail polish remover to take off the polish.

i used to do work on acrylic peices and i too have used clear nail polish on acrylic blocks on small areas to remove marks made by cuttting the material to "reclear" the area.

but its definetly worth a try, do post back if it works.
