GTS 250 1GB DDR3 in Mac Pro 1,1
The power supply is connected to the GTS 250 card in Slot-2; Slot-1 is harboring a 7300GT, to which the display is connected. How do I cause the system to recognize and make use of the card in Slot-2? It is aware of the card, but it is not aware of the details and doesn't appear to be using it as the primary card. Under System Profiler -> Graphics/Displays: "NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT, GPU, PCIe, Slot-1; Display, GPU, PCIe, Slot-2."
I inserted the GTS 250 into Slot-1, but the display would not respond. When I turned on the computer after returning the 7300GT to Slot-1 and the GTS 250 to Slot-2, I received a message stating that the GTS 250 is not running at full power. Am I using the wrong power-cord? What is the right cord to use? Where ought I to plug in the cord? Must I reach below the fan? How might I go about doing it?
Which cards are recommended for Mac Pro 1,1 running Snow Leopard?
