recording multiple tracks with Alesis Multimix 8 USB mixer

My efforts have been satisfactory recording one track at a time which is what I do regularly. However, I have not been able to record multiple tracks simultaneously as I want to do when recording a band in my studio. i get the message: Can't enable track for recording; Track is in use.
Any suggestions?

The multimix usb is only a 2 channel out, you can only record 2 instruments mono or 1 stereo. Alesis does make a Multimix 8 usb 2.0 mixer that has 8 channels out and you could record 8 separate channels at the same time.

as iSteveus said, you'll only be able to record 2 tracks at most. skim this tute for the solution to your error:

fyi, HT: the page of that first link (#5. Rec. Mult. Trks) has a little error, it lists "GB5(08)", not 09.
