Won't let me drag and drop to device....why?

When I try to drag and drop tv episodes from iTunes to iPad it won't do it...as soon as I drag the title out of iTunes and it crosses over into the left column, the slashed circle appears and it won't go into the iPad. Does anyone know why this is and how to get it to transfer? Thanks for your help!

PC, Windows XP, Transfer from pc back to iPad

You select them by ticking the box in the right hand window and press sync

In order to drag and drop, you need to have the box next to "Manually manage..." on the iPad summary pane checked. Sounds as if you don't.

This was changed (in V 10.0?)
Items dragged to the iPad/iPod will still get copied over, even when not manually managing.
Select the tabs across top and the dragged items show up at the very bottom under *Manually added*.

Thanks for the update. I haven't used manual management for years so my experience is a little out of date.

Thanks, but....I have checked the Manual box but it still won't let me drag episode titles into the device....any other suggestions?

Not sure what you mean...right hand window? Guide said to check the "'manual managing" box on the Summary tab in iTunes....then drag the desired titles per to the device in the left-hand column. Thanks for your effort to help me...I just don't see a right-hand box.
