Backed pictures from PC to iPad but show as Negative? I am new to apple.

Hi all first post ever on here, I am totally new to Apple devices having always used Windows PC's.
Just got my iPad last night charged it up. (glad asked a coworker to show me her charger for her iPod and how to connect)
was trying to see if there was a local WIFI option but think need to get a router.
I finally did figure how to upload/backup family pictures from my PC to the i Pad but for some reason all pics show as negatives? Cant see anything in the settings but as first time with an apple device I am aware I am missing A LOT.

Think going to a local store to see if I can pick up a printed manual as do not want to print everything up with my printer. Also think would be good to take a class for the basics. Maybe they could even set some things for me? I did download itunes last night on pc and got that part set up for store once I have wifi. Right now I have more questions then ability to ask them.

I know from playing with my uncles, once its set up its very user friendly, which is what entranced me with it. But for now, any ideas on fixing the pictures?
