I cannot figure out how to put in the score numbers in the box. It keeps showing 10 in each box and I cannot figure out how to change it from 10 to the correct number. I have the teams in fine, but getting the score in is driving me nuts! Can anyone help me out?

Thanks John, that is exactly what I thought I would do, but I cannot get it to highlight in blue. (I am doing a photo slideshow) I have my teams all in the inspector.... I add my two teams to the pictures of the game, I add the "Score" to my last picture, the inspector pops up and adds two teams names (which I can and must go in and manually change. I then fully expected to be able to go to the "10", get it highlighted and put in the correct numbers. Doesn't happen. It, when I click on the first 10, makes both 10's disappear, and when I try to put MY numbers in I get the "thud" sound. I know this should be simple. I do know that. I have been using imovie for years, but this just seems so strange. I also tried to just add another "score" before posting this, just in case I am off my rocker, and the exact same thing continues to happen.

I don't get it. I certainly do appreciate your willingness to help me out! If you see any step I may be doing incorrectly, please let me know!

Thanks again John!

Hi Colleen,

I just tested it again and didn't have any issues at all. I tried changing the scores for both teams on a video clip and on a photo (dragged from the Photo Browser) - both worked as expected. Strange that you are seeing a different behaviour.

You could try deleting iMovie's preference file. It's in your user (Home) folder Library>Preferences named "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist". Close iMovie, then trash this file. When next opened, iMovie will create a new file with the default settings. You may need to change some settings to suit your own preference. To do this, go to iMovie (in iMovie's menu) and select Preferences, then make any changes in the various tabs in the pop-up panel that appears. Trashing the preference file will often fix any abnormal behaviour with iMovie, but won't affect your Events or Projects.

I don't know if you ever found the fix for yourself Colleen, but I will tell you what has worked for me. I did as he said to delete the pref file and I don't know if it made it appear of if I just wasn't looking for it. But when in the editing of the title browser that shows sports scores the box to actually edit the 10 (default score) to whatever you want was about 30% down from the actual box it's supposed to be in. Click on that # 10 and you can edit it and then once you click done it will work. Hopefully an Apple Eng will read this and fix it for us Also it's exrememly hard to do this if your working on dark video.

Good Luck

Is there an updated fix for this? Two years since OP and no iMovie update has fixed this?? I am having the exact same issue.. I can't click in the score box at all. I'm nervous to delete the pref file as I'm not sure what I am losing in doing that if anyone can explain to me. Thanks for any help! 🙂

EDIT: Just tried again.. when you click in the box for whatever random reason, the score boxes show up over your video/photo and I wasn't seeing it at first. Kind of camouflage. 🙂
