No audio when using ATV AirPlay + iPhone 4

No audio when using ATV AirPlay + iPhone 4

I'v tried to look to see if anyone else has had this problem but no luck. I can successfully use AirPlay through my Apple TV 2 using video but when trying to play music or podcasts with the iPod app, it stops working.

I can't get audio to stream on video that isn't supported on the apple tv either. Not sure what I should do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iPad audio or video can be airplayed to ATV2
iPhone 4 audio doesn't even give me an option to airplay it "/ but video does?

I also dislike how Home Sharing can't see my iTunes Library like 90% of the time, and i have to sync to my iPad then airplay movies "/

I had the same issue.

To fix it, I had to reset the Apple TV unit. I think it has something to do with the cache because this occured after we rented an HD movie from Apple.

Had same issue from an iPad.

After airplaying a movie rented on the iPad I had no sound from iPod app on iPad and also an audio stream in Safari would not Airplay to Apple TV 2.

Videos were fine playing video and audio over Airplay. Photos app was happily airplaying images.

All OK after reset on ATV2

ATV 4.1.1
iPad 4.2.1

Same here, and same fix --

Solved it using the suggestion from this thread -- reset the apple TV.

I hope this does not happen again, because I had to setup the apple tv all over again. I have a really long Wifi password that is really hard to enter!
