Mac Mini forgets wifi network after sleep

Hi,

My Mac mini "forgets" my wifi network every time it sleeps. The network name even disappears from the list of available networks. It used to work fine and I can't pinpoint when things changed (the hardware remains unchanged, so I assume an Apple software update is responsble). I'm getting quite tired of typing in my network name and password every time I use my computer! I notice a lot of similar questions on the forum, but no solutions. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Double check this selection:

System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Location : Automatic. Hit the Advanced.. button > Airport tab > check "remember networks this computer has joined". If your network isn't in the Preferred Networks list above, add it.

That's a helpful suggestion, but I've checked and my network is already in the list...

I guess the only other things I can suggest are to drag it to the top of that list and read through these router settings for any cause/effect a setting is having..

Not that it helps, but I have the same problem. Out of curiosity, is your network "hidden" (SSID not broadcast)? My mini will find my neighbors' networks after sleeping or a restart, but it won't find my hidden one. My other Mac has no problem finding my network at any time.

Yes, my network SSID is hidden. It's weird because another mac in the house (a Macbook Pro) doesn't have the same issue. I am going to try using an airport express to connect to the wireless network and then using a cable to connect from the airport express to my macmini.

Two mac minis in the house, both with EXACTLY the same problem. My router is also not broadcasting SSID and it's using WPA Personal.

No fix found so far, other than to use an Ethernet connection, of course.

How could Apple miss a bug this obvious?

I'm having the same issue. Mac Mini, SSID not broadcastet. Forgets network after reboot or sleep. I hope the next OS X update will address this.

Same problem. Had something similar on an old iMac a while back, and never did get it to work properly.

My 15" MacBook this morning started dropping the WiFi connection on sleep, then asking for the WEP password on wake. Network is in the list, boxes checked, etc. I hope they patch OS X soon because this is super annoying.

I'm not sure, but I repaired permissions, ran Disk Warrior and also OnyX. Something in there seems to have solved the problem for the moment. I'm guessing that it might have just been repairing the permissions -- see Disk Utility.

I'm having the same problems with my MBP running 10.6.7. This never occurred to me on 10.6.6. Any solution yet?

Having a similar problem. IMAC, 10.6.7 SSID Hidden. AIrport Extreme. Sometimes computer will not reconnect to network after sleep. Sometimes turning airport off and then back on using menu bar causes computer to connect. (Network is visible in preferred network list.) Other times I have to re-input network information (SSID, Key)

Have seen similar problem on macbook.
