iPhone 4 Video Recording Time

Does anyone know what the maximum video recording time is on an iPhone 4? I just had a recording stop after 49 minutes, 52 seconds. The video takes up 3.7 gig, but there's still 3.2 gig available.

I need to be able to record improv shows that average around 75 minutes.

Aha! It looks like the limiting factor is movie size, not time.

I've made two movies that stopped recording even though there was plenty of storage left:

Movie 1 is 1:38:30 long and takes 3.96 GB on disk (3,961,204,317 bytes)
Movie 2 is 49:51 long and takes 3.96 GB on disk (3,960,513,365 bytes)

The length of recording seems to depend on image complexity. Movie 2 is a (partial) recording of an improv show. For movie 1, I just started recording with the phone in its dock before I went to bed, so it's mostly pitch black.

Sounds like somebody used a 32-bit pointer someplace. 😟

I don't really need HD video for this application but I do need around 90 minutes of recording time. Anyone know how to record at a lower resolution? I suppose I could just use the front camera, although that might be kind of distracting while performing.
