nanos breaking in your hip pocket

I am from PuertoRico and i had my nano for 2 1/2 months and my LCD broked from inside the main glass in my pocket. Do i just sent it out to Apple or i have to buy another one.

!PLEASE HELP ME I NEED ANSWERS!

Also common, is the fact that many people are abusing their Nanos. AppleCare deos not cover accidental abuse, such as putting it in your hip pocket and sitting down.
