The 4 default iCals alarms - Stupid !!!

Does anyone know how the BEEP the alarms work for iCal?

I make an event and want an alarm, so I press the alarm button and get 4 options :

Why would I want an alarm 1 month in the past?
Why would I want an alarm 1425 minutes AFTER the event?

Its just stupid!!

MacBook (4GB), Mac OS X (10.5.4)

Hi,

iCal stores your previously chosen alarm options. They are alarms you have previously set.

I don't disagree that they appear pretty useless.

I have what I set for my last alarms. One was send email for a date in June, three are send email 15mins before the event.
