Putting a ruler in an image

Hi forum,

Does anyone know how to put a scale/ruler in an image? I do macro and would like to show the size of my objects with a ruler.

Like Terence said for it to be meaningful you really should have the scale in the shot when you take it.

But if you decide to go the 'add after' route you really can't do it in Aperture. Aperture doesn't have anyway to combine separate images so you'll need to use an external editor.

Putting a ruler in the image at shooting time is not an option.

But I understand the point Frank and Terence are making and agree. I was hoping that some plugin like BorderFX (which also adds something to a picture, borders) exist. But, the results of BorderFX are not stored back into the Aperture library.

I guess the same counts for my other question about annotating a picture.

The results of making changes in an external editor like GIMP (free), Photoshop, etc. can easily be saved back into Aperture's Library.
