MacBook Pro Logic Board Failure

I was using my computer just fine (2007 MBP core 2 duo) all day. Put it to sleep came back after 30 minutes and tried to wake it and it's dead. I held down the power key to shut it down then tried to restart no luck. No start up chime, no screen, keyboard seems dead as well (caps lock light does not light up), HD does not start up. The only signs of life are the white light on the screen latch that is now on, the fans are spinning and the DVD drive seems to work.

Reset the power management module and zapped the PRAM, no luck.

It is far more likely that a simple error was made in replacing your build-to-order logic board with a standard board. If you are unhappy with the repair for any reason, your first recourse should be to ask the Vendor to "make it right". The repair should have at least a 90-day warranty.

You can certainly complain to the Better Business Bureau if you like, but asking the Vendor to fix their error would be more productive.

Apple does not have a pervasive set of business practices intended to defraud you. Your compaint will not force them to change their business policies, because they are already equitable, if perhaps error-prone.

Yes I contacted Apple in parallel and the Apple Store sent me a modified receipt

of the repair upping the processor speed to 2.5 GHz.

Therefore, I have 2 receipts now of the repair (last year says 2.4 GHz)

and today it now says 2.5 GHz ... .but still in the system says 2.4GHz

Even on the Windows 8 side , it says 2.4 GHz

I have no idea what computer I got back now.

Maybe Apple is like the book 1984 (George Orwell)...

But on the Macbook it says 2.4 GHz in the About Mac section and the system information

I believe Apple has tried to cheat me ...

perhaps take advantage of my disability...

I am a little slow with these things.

The BBB complaint will go forward!

Thank you.

How about I compare Apple to car salesmen or auto sales?

So I buy a 2.5 GHz machine and come out after repair with a 2.4 GHz machine.

Maybe Apple felt the value of the Macbook had depreciated like a car a decided

to use used, refurbished , outdated parts in its repair, which included downgrading

the processor speed.

Then they try to cover it up by sending me an updated repair receipt just today

saying 2.5 GHz. I just don't understand.... I may be disabled, but ...I will figure it

out eventually, I am just a little slow (brain thing)... someone called me silly among

other words here.

I am glad I figured it out in 30 days... whew! that was close!

I think there is some deception there

Good job Apple.

You complained your paperwork was wrong, so they fixed your paperwork.

I think there is some deception there

Then make an appointment at the genius Bar, present your computer and your paperwork, and allow the Vendor to "make it right".

Otherwise, please sit down and be quiet -- this is not the complaint department.

There are only other Users like you here -- Apple makes no promise to read these forums, and NEVER responds here unless an initial posting goes unanswered for several days.

No, I complained and sent an image of what my Macbook showed in the
About This Mac also

This means internally the processor is 2.4 GHz as far as I can tell

and not 2.5 GHz as it was before.

Why would I not do both?

duh!?
