Can my iMac burn dual-layer DVDs?

Can my iMac burn dual-layer DVDs?

This is probably an enormously stupid question, but if I don't ask I won't be 100% sure. In my System Profiler under Disc Burning, DVD Write says this: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW. I'm assuming "DL" stands for dual layer?

27" iMac i7, 4GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Yes, the "DL" stands for dual-layer. All Mac superdrives for some years now have been able to burn DL media. Your new 27" iMac certainly can.

I read this answer, and other similar ones saying a new iMac can burn to Double layer or DL discs. My system profiler, however, only lists the following under the DVD line: -R, -RW.

So now i am confused about whether i really can use these discs or not. Any information would be appreciated.
