I am a new Mac user, all is going well apart from being able to delete e-mails from my all mail folder, under my GMAIL folders. I have set up only one e-mail account, GMAIL. Some time ago I had the same issue with my iPhone, However there is a setting in the iPhone "Archive Messages", when it is turned off it ensure mails are permanently deleted. I can find nothing similar on my iMac. When I use the iMac to import mail, and delete items they automatically go to my all mail folder, when deleted there they will reappear when I log in again. If i delete the same e-mails on my iPhone they are deleted permanently.
Any help would be appreciated.
