I can't unlock in landscape mode, and when i press the the letter "t" it came out twice and same thing with the number 5. The problem started once i updated to ios 4.2. Some time the screen will just lock up and I can't do any thing. I have to hard boot the iPad before i can us it again.

Please help

Hi, Welcome to Apple Discussions.

If you have restored, then it is almost definitely a hardware problem. Your touchscreen may have a problem. Book a Genius Appointment, and a repair or a replacement will be offered.

Mack, just call Apple tech support. Since you're beyond the 90-day free support period, they may ask for a credit card up front in case the problem is one of software, not a hardware fault, but if the problem is one that is covered by warranty, you will not be charged. Apple will send you a box to send your iPad it to them for replacement.

Alternatively, you can go through Apple's online service assistant to request service:
