Dec 9, 2010 5:31 AM in response to littlebigrobotby Alejandro Grigera,★HelpfulYou can check this kind of things from de Addmin manual of FCS but I'll tell you since is not so hard.
Both in trait and device permissions you have a "Copy From" option, if you set this to denied in devices will stop people from export clips from those devices, same thing from items in trait.
In proxies device you must leave this option in permit so people can view the proxies.
Hope this help -
Dec 9, 2010 8:03 AM in response to Alejandro Grigeraby littlebigrobot,Really... I haven't not seen this in the Admin & Setup Manual. It says that a bunch of the sets are the same and play with them to find what works!
I'm tying to change the things you said but haven't been able to figure out what controls access to the Original Media.
I'd like a permission set that allows export but cannot view Original Media. I'll keep trying but any more pointers would help,
Thanks -
Dec 9, 2010 11:27 AM in response to littlebigrobotby Alejandro Grigera,You can find a nice table about permission setting in page 42-43 of the FCS Administration Guide.
About your question, let say you have all the original media in the media device (hope you know where the original representation of the files are located) then go to Administration/Permission Set/Choose there the set you want to modify...then go to device permissions. There you have on the first column the name of the device (like an excel sheet) the other columns are the options I was talking about, put the "Copy From" option to "Forbid" for the "Media" device and then those users won't be able to export from Media. The same thing for the rest of the devices.
Leave the option on "permit" for device "Proxies" so they can see the proxies on their clients.
For these changes to take efect you might want to restar the client for those users.
Hope this help.
