Black MacBook cursor/selection problems

Having a few problems.

When I hover the cursor over a link or application, the item will be selected very quickly before I actually click on it myself. Other times when I click on a tab or link the cursor will drag the item around as if I was holding down the trackpad button.

Other times I open the mac from sleep mode and I won't be able to click on anything at all!

Please help!

Hi Phil2412 and welcome to Apple Discussions!

It sounds like the trackpad and/or button itself is failing. Is your MacBook still under warranty or an AppleCare plan? Regardless, you will probably need to have it repaired. Contact Apple using the appropriate phone number on [this page|http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html] or carry it in to an Apple retail store for repair. Be sure to [make an appointment|apple.com/retail] first or you may spend a long time waiting to talk to a Mac Genius.

Best of luck.
