G4 Powerbook / OS 10.4

cannot boot this old pro no longer - disk utility says: HD needs repair. Is there any way to re-coop my data by connecting it to my new ibook to get the old pro started? both machines are on a wifi router.
Would appreciate help.

G4, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Restart from a Mac OS X install disk and use the Disk Utility from there to repair the drive, or if possible connect the computers with a FireWire cable and start that Mac with the T key held down.

If Disk Utility can't repair, DiskWarrior can probably fix your problem. DiskWarrior by Alsoft
