Macbook 2006 Hard drive replacement.

Ok so I have a late 2006 mac book with a 1.83 GHZ Intel processor. I wanted to buy a 250 GB HD from a newer macbook that has OSX 10.6 on it. First of all will it work? And if so after I install it will I have osx 10.6 working correctly?

First things first. This would be illegal since you did not buy the copy of OS X 10.6 even if you did get it to work. You would be better off spending the money on a new Hard drive. You can get a 750 GB drive cheap at OWC macsales and then 29 dollars for Snow Leopard. You would have a known good drive 3 times bigger than the used one. You would also have a legal copy of Snow Leopard that you know would have the files your MacBook needs.

Buying a used hard drive is risky as you don't know if it has problems. New ones come with a warrantee if you have any problems.
