Error Code 0

I created an MP4 file from a DVD using MPEG Streamclip. I have done this many times. I an now trying to drag the MP4 file to a thumb drive and I get this message: operation can't be completed due to an unexpected error (error code 0).

Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this so I can move the file?

You normally get that error code when trying to transfer a file larger than 4G to a FAT32 formatted drive or a file over 2G to a FAT16 formatted drive. You can reformat the thumb drive in Disk Utility to Mac OS Extended but a PC won't be able to read the file.

The file I am trying to transfer is 6.95 GB onto an 16GB thumb drive. I am trying to move the file from my Mac to a PC. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this?

You can burn the file to a dual layer DVD if your iMac is capable of burning them and the PC can read them.

You can transfer the file over a network.

FTP to a site internet site that hosts large files and download with the PC

I am having similar problems. I have two large .mov files(11 & 4 gb files) and I am unable to move to several differently formatted external hard drives or to my .mac account. Any further suggestions?
