iTunes Store: An unknown error occurred (1008).

I'm attempting to "GIFT" an APP to a MobileMe user while using iTunes 10.1(54).
I get the following message in a dialog box ... iTunes Store: An unknown error occurred (1008).

I have recently been able to "GIFT" APPS from my iPhone.

MBP, Mac OS X (10.6.5), iTunes 10.1(54)

The iPhone iTunes app says something about 'gifting' is only possible directly from the creditcard; so if you have money on your account (by some iTunes present card or whatever..), the process might fail...
in my case, i am getting 1008 on both my macs.. BUT.. 'gifting' from the iPhone works.. strange one..

From Apple Support:
{quote}I'm sorry to hear you have been receiving an error message 1008 when attempting to purchase from the iTunes Store. Following these steps should take care of it:

1) Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
2) Click Sharing.
3) Click in the Computer Name field.
4) From the Edit menu, choose Select All. All the text in the Computer Name field should be highlighted now.
5) Press the Delete key to remove all the text.
6) Re-type your desired computer name in the Computer Name field.
7) Close the Sharing preference window.
