I dropped my Iphone 4

I bought my Iphone 4 with the plan from At&t on the second week of October. I was sitting in class and my phone fell out of my pocket and hit the floor. The screen was cracked, both back and front. What should I do?? I'm a high school student and the cost for replacement is too expensive. I have read from several forum that the apple store might replace it for free. Do you think it's possible for me?

the warranty does not cover the screen damage. You will have to pay out of warranty, which ihs 199 bucks for a replacement.

Few month after the iphone 4 release, it has been reported by some users that they have gotten their phone replaced for free as a one time courtesy, replaced it for cheaper as a one time courtesy. But it is done case by case and every apple store is different of how they process the situation.

You might as well take it to the apple store. Tell them exactly what happened. If they do replace it for free, then you are lucky. However, if they don't replace it for free and charge you, you can just walk out of the store, find a way to get the money. Maybe ask your parent?

I slipped on the ice last night and my phone went flying across the driveway and landed on the front screen. It spiderweb cracked the entire front of the phone into about 20 different shards.

The Apple store at my local mall switched it out for free - they were fast, helpful and informative. This was a "1 time courtesy" but I suspect the fact that this is my 2nd iPhone and I've never been late on a payment may have been a factor. They also indicated that I have never reported any problems so they are more prone to go above and beyond to help.

It's customer service like this that will bring me back for the next generation hardware when it is available... I'm not sure how the Apple store can absorb the type of variable costs associated with employing the number of people they do. You go in there and are greeting by 20 employees ready to assist you, and then they give you a phone for free. In today's business environment very few companies still place that customer ahead of the shareholder - it is nice to see that Apple is one of them.

I'm a customer for life!
