Q: iSync: No writable calendar was found

Hi folks,
I recently ran into the problem, that neither me nor my wife could sync the calendar between our Nokia N78 and our MACs using iSync. Searching for help, I found the following "archived" threads in the discussion forum:

--> http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1579003&tstart=74
--> http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1647744&tstart=1456
--> http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1351592

None of those solution helped me, but I was lucky and could solve it my own. Since I cannot continue those old threads, I decided to bring this issue back to present with a new thread. May it is of help for anybody ...

Szenario:
I cannot check "iCal-Sync" in iSync. Error message is given in the subject of this and the old threads. I have a MobileMe account and it was about 2 Nokia N78 smartphones.

Solution:
I stopped iSync and iCal. Renamed/delete the following directories under <User_home>:

./Library/Application Support/SyncServices
./Library/Calendars

I started iCal again and after a moment all my entries got back from MobileMe to the local MAC. iSync allowed now to sync the calendar as well.

Alu iMac 24" 4GB and several other stuff, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

    To Solve: Go to iCal,

    Create a new calendar "On My Mac" for phone events.

    Miracle, the problem has gone away and you can synch your Nokia to your mac.

    Hi guys,

    i see this problem was up to date a while ago but i still have the same problem on my macbook pro under mountain lion. I downloaded all updates.

    I have isync (version: 3.1.2.) with the nokia plugin for my nokia smartphone E5-00.

    It worked 3 weeks ago but suddently isync won´t syncronize my calenders from ical (version 6.0). The programm shows me that there are "no wirtebale calenders found" I tried to syncronize with icloud turned on and off, I tried to create a new local calender  but everything wont work.

    Somebody has a usefull idea for me ?  Pleasssseeeeee! Bitte Bitte Bitte! Or any other programms that syncronize ical calenders with a nokia E5-00 smartphone ?

    Greetings from Berlin, Germany,

    Alex

    iSync is not supported for use under Mountain Lion. It was discontinued when Lion was released 14 months ago.

    Try SyncMate: http://mac.eltima.com/sync_mac_nokia.html

    Yep, I stopped messin around with isync either. I have about 12 Macs to support. All spreaded over friends and family which I have to take care about, because they are not that familiar with technic. Apples product politic with OSX and MobileMe/iCloud caused me nothing but trouble the last 2 years in order to keep them all going. If you need to sync with older devices and if you want to stay with an OS and hardware you trust and you are familiar with, I can recommend to search for other sync services. There are some around but I do not know whether its allowed to cross link them here.

    Since Apple compels its customer more and more to replace hardware faster and faster and you continously have to forget stuff you just learned and got familiar with, its getting harder and harder to keep track. I started to plan on an exit strategy, in case I cannot follow Apple anymore. Computers are not my hobby and I dont wanna be their slave. I want to use them and they should ease my life.

    Just some words
