Error code 2037

Hello,

I've been trying to make purchases for the last two days, and an unknown error code (2037)keeps popping up. It worked perfectly fine downloading an app several days ago. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, a few days ago I had the same 2037 problem and contacted Apple iTunes support ( http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/) to resolve the issue. Within 24 hours they replied and said they were investigating the issue. In the meantime, I tried purchasing apps on the iTunes again and, to my surprise, I was successful—the issue was resolved.

Today, I have received few emails more from iTunes support with the following suggestion (see below). I have not tried it since my account is working again, but for those who are having trouble maybe you can try the steps below as they came from iTunes Support.

Suggestion from received from iTunes support:
---------------------------------------------
I'll walk you through this process to get you back up and running in no time.

1) Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge at the Apple website:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

2) Open iTunes.

3) From the Store menu, choose Sign In.

4) Enter your account name and password then click Sign In.

5) From the Store menu, choose View My Account.

6) On your Apple Account Information page, click Edit Payment Information.

7) On the Edit Payment Information page, select the None radio button to completely remove all your credit card info.

8) Click Done, and then click Done again.

9) From the Store menu, choose Sign Out and then close iTunes completely.

Once you have removed your credit card info, follow these steps:

1) Visit the My Apple ID website at:

http://appleid.apple.com

2) If the site is not displayed in your preferred language, click the Change Language link in the upper-right corner, type the name of your language in the field that appears, then click the Save button.

3) Click the "Manage your account" link.

4) Type your iTunes Store account name (which is your Apple ID) in the Apple ID field, type your password in the password field, then click the Sign In button.

5) Click "Addresses" in the column on the left. Look at your shipping addresses at the bottom. If you have multiple shipping addresses, remove any out-of-date or duplicate addresses by clicking Delete. Also, make sure the state or province field is filled out correctly for each address. To edit an address, click Edit.

6) Now click "Phone Numbers" on the left. The area codes should be in the area code fields and the phone numbers should be in the phone number fields. If an area code is missing, or if it is in a phone number field, your account information may not save properly.

7) Make any other necessary corrections, then click the Save Changes button.

8) Click Log out in the upper-right corner.

When you make your next iTunes Store purchase, you will be asked to review your billing information. At that point, you can update your information or simply click Done. After that, you should be able to purchase items.

---------------------------------------------
End of suggestion from received from iTunes support.

Ok!!
I've been having the same propblem and been trying to figure out what happened since this morning. First, my ipnone downloads everything fine from itunes stores with the same account i use for my comeputer. So that is to said nothing wrong with my account info or anything related to my account. BUT, i just noticed that im using my college campus wifi network for my laptop in the mean time my iphone is downloading data via 3G cellphone network. Someone in this thread said the problem may be caused by different Internet Service Provider(IPS) Since the internet on my iphone is provided by AT&T and the internet in my school building must be provided by another company, maybe Itunes currently only allows purchases made via the network provided by major ISPs for security reasons. I haven't had a chance to try different networks since im still in school but will go to starbuck and try AT&T there. I saw there arent really all the people are having this problem and the number of people that actually came up on here to complaint is small so maybe this is not affecting most people at all or once they change ISP from place to place and the problems will be solved

I too have been plagued by this error code 2037 for the last 5 days - I have re-installed itunes, re authorized my computer and changed out my credit card to no avail. The error has occurred on downloads of both itunes and videos. Thought it was strange, when I managed to download a video on my Ipad yet my MacBook Pro still failed to download. Alas it is now affecting my Ipad as well. Using the help screens, fast tracks, etc has been a complete waste of a substantial amount of my time. It was a relief to see other users on the Apple Discussions community having the same problem - at least I felt that I was not alone and that given the fact that this is a major loss of an income stream to Apple - maybe we will get some quick actions - although it is now 5 days and counting!!

I have been getting this 2037 error for about a week now. I wrote to "express lane" support listing all of the things that I had done to try and fix it and they replied with a form response which basically said to try all of the things I already told them I had tried! (Sadly, this is the usual experience with itunes support) When I replied saying that and listing again all of the steps I had taken, they told me that they aren't technical support and sent me to a link which was the same place I had gone which resulted in them contacting me. So. Not. Useful.

Here is what I have done:

- When I first got the error, I wasn't on the most current version so I upgraded to the current version.

- My computer runs on Vista and connects to our network via wifi. I had my husband try it on our network connected via ethernet cable. His computer runs windows 7.

- I have rebooted, etc.

- I am unable to buy any music nor am I able to buy tv shows (which I was originally trying to do).

- I ran the iTunes Diagnostic which confirmed that I am linked successfully to the itunes store.

- All other websites and web applications work successfully. (not an internet problem)

- Both my husband and I have purchased previously with no issues.

- And (as references above) I went to the link and the url turned green.

Has their been any news as to whether this will be fixed soon? Oh and the "express lane" support folks also mentioned that I could try their fee based technical support, but I don't see why I should have to PAY in order for them to let me buy from them. That's crazy talk.

Sounds as if they have resolved the problem. I just received the following response from itunes support:

+I understand that you have been unable to purchase from the iTunes Store. The account maintenance team has resolved the issue. If you have any difficulty signing in and making purchases with your account, please reply to let me know. I apologize for any frustration this has caused. Thank you for being a valued iTunes Store customer.+

Same problem for me. I can donwload songs and most applications but when trying to down load Navigon Europe mobile navigator(big size 1.7 GB) it constantly fail with the code 2037. I tried from itunes on my windows vista laptop, my iphone 4 and my ipad withous success today. Suddenly I tried with my old iphone 3GS that does not even have a sim card but using the same wlan and it worked. All this happened in about 30 minutes so it cannot have anything to do with my account, not with my internet operator and not with my computer. I dont know what the problem was.

Just de-authorized all my iTunes authorized computers. Then, authorized new MBA 11" for iTunes. Want to download movie but keep getting "error code 2037". No problem downloading Podcasts; seems to have to do with purchased items. I checked my account and all the information is current and correct. What gives?
When I try to find phone number or email address for Apple iTunes Store troubleshooting, nothing seems to pop out on the website. How does one resolve this issue? I want to download a movie to watch on the plane.

Same error for 4 days. It's happening on all my apple products, iPhone, AppleTV, Macbook. I even spoke to them on the phone and they said they would email with a solution. Nothing has happened in 4 days and I'm still getting the same error. I just placed another case, hope they can get back to me this 3rd try.
Somehow my view of Apple is starting to change: horrible customer service, and I have to beg to them to be able to buy from them? That's the world upside down.

Fix this!!
