For the MDD, the most common choices in order from slower to faster are the Radeon 9700 Pro, Radeon 9800 Pro, Radeon 9800 XT, Geforce 7800 GS and Radeon X800 XT.

Flashed (converted PC) cards are the most common.
eBay is a good source for these cards and some bargains may be had.

eBay cards MUST state Mac/OS X compatibility in the description or they WON'T work.

With other than the Radeon 9800 Pro, flashed cards are the only option, as Mac OEM won't work (they are all G5 cards).

All of the cards with the exception of the Radeon 9800 Pro +Mac Edition+ (real retail) require taping of the #3 and #11 pins.
This is NOT a big deal.

ALL cards require additional power via Molex extension or splitter from existing hard drive power connections.
