Generally such things are dependent upon the SMTP and server, and not Mail. I don't have any Exchange accounts, but for example, if I send with Bcc using my Gmail account, the Bcc header is only viewable in the Sent on the sending computer, but is not when viewed on another computer. If resynced it will likely no longer be viewable on any computer -- I have previously confirmed this behavior with Gmail.

However, with MobileMe IMAP and other IMAP I have it is available in the Sent.

This is not the action of Mail, but of the particular server.

This is certainly still a problem, of sorts. It has to do with Exchange connections, not IMAP/SMTP, so please refrain from commenting on that. The bcc field will be visible via OWS or Outlook, it's just Mail.app that doesn't see it correctly. It's just not there, not in the raw headers either. But other exchange clients can see it, even though it was sent via Mail.app. This has been reported since 2010, so it's not a new problem either.

It is not the Mail app determining this, but the Gmail SMTP. I just tested with 10.8.4 and sending from Gmail, and the Bcc header is seen in the Sent folder on that sending computer.

As stated in an earlier post it is not seen on another device, nor is it to bound with the Webmail interface to Gmail.

It does not seem to be any failure of the Mail app.

There is no way to fix, so long as the Mailbox Behaviors are set to store Sent Mail on the server. Once the Gmail server is again synced with, the Bcc header disappears.

If you were to not care to have the Sent Mail folder stored only locally on the Mac, then I believe the Bcc would stay there. But that defeats the benefit on an IMAP account. If you were to have ever used Gmail in POP access, then it would have worked.

and i just did the silly workaround where ya save the email as a Draft first then reopen it then send it out,

AND THE BCC FIELD EXISTS JUST FOR THIS ONE EMAIL in my Sent box.

and what about the Bcc fields of all my other past emails? are they getting lost? are they in my old mail (archival 'base) or are they getting lost. i am sending AND saving the mail all on my mac.. why is gmail 'causing' this..

and.. most important: HOW TO FIX THIS. i want to see the Bcc in the mail i have Sent.

the "save as Draft thing and reopen before sending each email" 'workaround' is not a solution..

also, please: tell me briefly how to use forums to deal with such things as this.. how to 'reply' or where&how to submit my problem description.

sorry for any heatedness, part of it is that i don't know if i'm talking to anyone or not or what.. and, this prob has been around since 2008 (googling), though with microsoft mail involved.. not gmail until about 2011.

thanks, i just don't have any more lifetime to give to apple and microsoft and google being an unpaid beta tester..
