iPhone 4 - only one speaker works

I got my iPhone 4 a few days ago. I noticed, while playing music without headphones, that only one of the twin speakers carries audio. With further testing, like Skype and speaker phone,I notice that this is the same for all applications - only one speaker works.

I then checked my iPhone 3GS - it is the same, but with the 3GS, the working speaker is opposite to the iPhone 4.

It's not a big deal, if I listen to music I only use headphones, and if I make a speakerphone call, the audio seems good enough with just the one speaker.

Am I the only one that has this unusual nuance ? Please check your iPhone 4 or 3GS and let me know. It just seems weird that Apple has two speaker ports, but only uses one ?

 MBP i7 15", MBP 15" duo,  24 " iMac,  20" iMac,  iPhone,  iTouch,  iPod, Mac OS X (10.6.4), also got the 64GB 3G iPad
