Are you using the wrong firmware file, or is the firmware files on your computer damaged?
Error 1015: This error is caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple.

To make iTunes download a new copy of the firmware, delete the old ipsw software files, located here:
On a PC: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
On a Mac: ~ /Users/username/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates

Error 1015 is usually caused by jailbroken firmware or if you're trying to downgrade to the firmware. In technical terms 1015 is what occurs when the baseband fails to upgrade. This could be because of dodgy firmware - I would recommend deleting the firmware as Ingo2711 suggested, putting the phone into DFU mode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofpinyGlQ8I and try restoring that way. If that fails there are ways around this baseband check with a hacked dfu mode but I'm not exactly going to post a tutorial on an apple official discussions board on how to do this - google is your friend
