DHCP Service not distributing IP Addresses

This is probably a dumb question with a simple solution, but I have a Mac Mini server and have it working except that I can't get DHCP to work. I have turned DHCP off on my router and turned it on on the server. When I connect my laptop (wired) to the network, that device doesn't even register in my DHCP log let alone show up in the clients list for DHCP on my server. In the network for my laptop is shows self assigned IP which tells me the server isn't giving the IP addresses out.

I searched the forums, but didn't see anything like this, so that is why I am assuming I just have some setting wrong.

Any one have any advice??

Thanks...I checked that box, but it still doesn't appear to be working. So I can statically map the IP address and it will give the client that address. Anything that isn't statically mapped still isn't given an address. The other odd thing is that my client list in the DHCP service is completely empty. The activity shows up in the log, so I can see the client requesting the IP Address from the server and the server giving it, but then the client doesn't show up in the Client list. I have had a couple of people who have configured Mac servers before look and we are coming up empty...

Any other thoughts??

If statically assigned DHCP (macadress-> IP) works I don't know whats wrong (but Windows DHCP client machines used to need to have the domain field in the DHCP server filled in) but if the ipfw firewall is on it needs to allow traffic in from 0.0.0.0 to UDP port 67 (and more).

That other DHCP server configuration fields is correctly filled in might matter too.

If connecting more than one interface to the same LAN/segment can also mess things up.

you probably have the same problem as me, dns and dhcp and vpn dont work unless a local user logins into the gui of snow leopard server at the local console. even though you can ssh in and see they are all running they dont work until someone is logged in locally, i have found no solution ecxept to do auto login and make it lock automatically to screensaver right after auto login.

I'm having the same issue than the original poster. Here's the dump of my dchp settings:

en0 is the WAN interface, en2 for LAN. I have doublechecked that they are the correct ones and also have the zone enabled.
