Linux on 500mhz iBook G3

Hi - does anybody have any success stories using any flavor of Linux on a dual-usb 500mHz/512MB iBook?

I'm toying with the idea of trying it out, but have no ideal what type of Linux to use or if the processor would be fast enough to use...

I've looked the web, but have only found information on iBooks with faster processors....

thanks

Yes I have YDL 3.0 on my iBook (500/384mb) and it runs fine. I set it up for a Unix class and used it regularly, but as of late it's booted up in OSX. Install is certainly not anything compared to OSX or even Windows, but it was my first Linux install so take that with a grain of salt. As far as usability, it runs as good in my estimation as OSX. Hey I'll boot it up while I type on the mini...

Well I just rebooted it and it won't boot in YDL now that I oc'd the bus and processor! Hmm time to reinstall maybe...

Here's the YellowDog forum, note the iBook/PowerBook area.
