Same problem here. Same generation MBP. This seems to happen to me while playing a full screen video. It does not always happen and is impossible to tell. I do notice that it almost always happens while in full screen and increasing the volume. Has anybody else taken this to the Apple store to replace the logic board. I have already had this replaced as mine gave out a few months ago and the screen wouldn't even display.

Sam problem here. Also started after having the logic board replaced in the Nvidia scheme. It even happened this morning with the screen saver, which I've now turned off. If anyone finds a fix...

Same exact issue here. I have the same generation MBP. Had the logic board replaced last winter because of the graphics card issue. Mine is randomly restartting while in full screen, but especially when changing the volume. I had multiple calls in to AppleCare but now my support has run out and the problem persists.

What's the point of this forum if Apple doesn't offer any solutions. Funny that AppleCare phone support insisted that I am the only person to have these issues.

I can't really afford to take time off work to travel 5 hours to Sydney to the nearest Apple Store, to get a fix, that doesn't even work!

The Apple hotline told me the problem was also individual, seriously annoying!

Apple get on this, not all of us can afford brand new macbooks!

I just started having this same issue today (although I have a MacBook - not a MBP). I have the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Of course, it's 5 years old, so maybe it's just time for a new computer (as I'm having other problems related to watching streaming video/audio). Sigh...

    I'm having the same problem.

Has anyone had any joy with a fix for this yet? Or is suffering too??

My 2011 imac is only a month old. I upgraded to 12GB RAM myself, and was running the preinstalled lion for a few weeks with no problems at all. Downloaded mountain lion, and noticed that the fans were either really quiet, or not kicking in at all. When I stream full screen video, the computer will randomly restart - telling me that there was a problem when the start-up gets going again. The top left hand corner was getting really hot, so i'd been using SMC to try and reduce the temperature thinking that this might have been the problem (SMU/PRAM reset had no impact), but last night it restarted twice seemingly regardless of the temp.

SO! Is there any chance that this is a mountain lion/software issue, or is it the logic board and the mountain lion upgrade timing was coincidence? If so, could it have been my installed RAM that killed it??

Any and all help/ideas appreciated. Next stop is obviously taking it to the genius bar, I just wanted to ask you clever people first.
