Try force quitting.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPad for a few seconds until a red slider appears, then press and hold the Home button until the application quits.
If that doesn't help, try resetting. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
On your Mac, open System Preferences (Applications folder) then select MobileMe then select the Account tab.
Make sure your account is setup correctly there as well.
