Update: Still can't import ringtone into iTunes for use on my iPhone.

DONE: Made less than 30 second file as .m4r

DONE: Double-clicked on it to open in iTunes

DONE: It's in iTunes now, however shows as MPEG or AAC files

DONE: Tried moving it to Ringtones folder... it won't go

DONE: Moved original .m4r file to "Ringtones" Folder by way of Finder, restarted... still doesn't show

How in the world do I get it in there??????????

These instructions are better than others. Here's what helped me get the ringtone in my iPhone...

"Now back in iTunes remove the file from the playlist (do NOT move to Trash, select ‘keep file’) and then re-import the file into iTunes 10 by double clicking the .m4r file within the Finder"

... I hadn't removed the original aac file (m4a) so it never put in the ringtone (m4r).

Thanks Mike!!
