Find my iPhone from SOMEONE ELSE's iPhone

It would be AWESOME if you could log into MobileMe.com from someone else's iPhone/Smartphone so you could LOCATE your own iPhone.

If you open Safari from an iPhone, all it will allow you to do is download the app. Kind of IMPRACTICAL if you are out and about and lost your phone. You have to wait till you GET HOME to locate it?

Also doesn't make sense that you can locate your own phone FROM a computer or your phone only. Uh,...where is it? Oh,...it's in my hand.

Mobileme.com needs to have a full site option from a smart phone so you can log in on someone elses phone and FIND YOUR OWN PHONE if lost while out of town or out on the town.

Can anyone make this happen??

Why is downloading the Find My iPhone app with the iPhone being used for this and signing in with the app to locate your iPhone impractical?

What? How does locating your iPhone, sending a message to the iPhone, or doing a remote wipe if needed from a computer not make sense? And the same for downloading the Find My iPhone app with another iPhone 4 or with the iPod Touch model the app is supported with to locate your iPhone?

You are not understanding me.

It's not impractical to be directed to download the app when you navigate to mobileme.com from an iPhone.

What's impractical is not having the ability to go to the FULL SITE (non-mobile site) and log in, thus being able to find, lock or wide your iPhone from SOMEONE ELSE'S iPhone.

EXAMPLE-

You are on a date with your wife. You both have iPhones. You go to dinner and then to a movie. Buy your movie tickets and sit down. Upon taking off your jacket you notice your iPhone is missing. "Honey, can I have your phone so I can see where I left mine?" She gives it to you and if she has a seperate iTunes account, her "Find iPhone" app won't work, so you open Safari and go to mobileme.com....but all it will let you do is download the app.

Guess what? You're hosed until to get home. So do you leave the theater? Wait till the movie is over? Go back to the restaurant, cause the minimum wage busboy is surely going to admit he has it when you say "I think I left it here."

All I am saying it, an option to view a NON-MOBILE/Full Site version of mobileme.com so you can log in on someone else's smart phone makes too much sense to not be able to do it.

Baloney. You don't understand.

If the Find My iPhone app is already installed on your wife's iPhone, you can log in with your account with the app to locate your iPhone.

I believe you are not understanding.

Download the Find My iPhone app on both iPhone. When one of you however loses their iPhone, they can use your other iPhone to open the "Find My iPhone" app. After that they log on to the Apple ID they have. After that you can use the app to;

- Find your iPhone
- Remotely wipe it
- Send it an alert

You can do all the same thing as on the desktop version.

Does this make sense?

Regards

Andy
