Problems with latest Ipod Touch Update

Updated to the latest Ipod software and found Ipod touch was then completely stuck, the clock had stopped. Found the only way out of this was to carry out a Restore of the Ipod. This meant downloading the extra apps like Amazon, Kindle, Ibooks and BT Fon again. Itunes had to resync all the 1000 tunes singly that was in the Itunes library. Itunes also complained that the Ipod and Itunes were on different computers, but once Itunes had resynced the Ipod, the Ipod had all the music on it. However until Ibooks and Amazon Apps were downloaded no books from Audible had been transferred to the Ipod. I wish Apple would make sure any future Ipod & Itunes downloads are completely safe prior to allowing them to be downloaded.

Did you try Syncing the ipod with a different computer, in fact - did you try installing the update for the iPod using a different computer to the original one?

You can only Sync your iPod with one computer. That computer has the songs and Apps that you added to the iPod and the iPod is simply a "copy" of your iTunes. While certain things, such as Apps, can be downloaded easily into your new iTunes on your second computer, because they are linked to your iTunes Store account, songs cannot. This includes songs youu may have purchased from iTunes. So the advice is back up purchased songs, because you can only download them once.

So it's unclear exactly what you have managed to do; apply the update from a second computer and therefore lose all the songs (which you say you haven't) or the original computer. If it was from the original, the Apps should have been in the iTunes library and therefore didn't need to be downloaded (from the Store) again.

What is the situation now, is your iPod working normally?

Same problem here. I used this ALL THE TIME, and now it just doesn't work. Anyone know anything about this?

Since you posted this exact comment onto another thread, but which has a different problem, it's unclear what you are having an issue with.

I know both threads mention an update to the operating system, but ignore that, what exactly is the problem with your iPod? Would it help if you created your own thread?
