how do I check how much internet usage I have left?

Hi,

I've had my phone for a few months now and I have 500MB internet usage, but I've been too scared to go on youtube or bbc news or anything with videos as I'm scared of exceeding my internet usage. Is there any way of checking how much internet usage I've got left?

The iPhone has data use measurement built into the OS, however it is not 100% accurate. Best is to check online by logging into your carrier account & checking your usage there. Most carriers offer such ability & since they are the one's billing you, obviously you want to pay attention to their statistics. Some carriers even offer an app from the app store that provides the same info. So, bottom line, check with your carrier-see if they offer an email/sms alert system, etc.

Thank you for your reply! I'm with t-mobile so I don't have an app that tells me my internet usage, I think vodafone does but unfortunately I'm not with them. I'm going to give t-mobile a ring, hopefully they can give me an answer.

I rang t-mobile and apparently if you have 500MB usage, they send you a text when you've used up 80% of your limit, then a further text if you've exceeded it, but they don't charge you for it, they just limit you to browsing between 4pm at 12 at night.
