How to burn CD to include song titles (like a pro burned CD)?

When I burn a CD and put it in my other computer, the song names show up as "Track 01", etc. Is there a way to store that info on the CD?

Thanks

You can include "CD Text", but that is only read by CD players that support it. but if you burn a CD and then open it in iTunes, for example, it will only show the the track names as "Track 1", "Track 2", etc.

To burn a CD you can use iTunes. Create a play list then right click on it and select "Burn Playlist to Disc". Or use something like "Roxio Toast".

Waveburner? I'm intrigued... I'm using Toast right now to add "CD Text", but it still shows up in iTunes as "Track 1", "Track 2", etc. I even tried adding the text and sending it up to the CDDB, but it didn't solve the problem. I guess the only way is to have the CD professionally manufactured?

Thanks.

Great info. Thanks.

So one thing I gathered from some of the threads is, you can go into iTunes, enter the text, etc., then submit it to CDDB. I did this. Then when I tried the CD in my son's iMac, it still showed up as "Track 1", etc. Now, I didn't use Waveburner burn the CD, instead I used Toast, which allows you to enter CD text. In fact, I gave a CD to a friend and they could see the CD text on their car stereo.

I guess I'm confused about how the CDDB knows that this set of CDs that I burned, matches up to the songs I submitted. Anyone know?

Thanks

It's not instant. See here:

Gracenote generates an 32-bit disc ID reference based on the number and length of the submitted tracks. So a CD might contain 11 tracks, all of which have a unique time, the chances of another CD having an identical 'fingerprint' is rather remote. But errors do occur, particularly if the CD has few tracks, in which case wrongly identified listings are fairly common.
