iPhone is stuck at restoring screen and cannot restore from 4.1 to 4.2.

My iPhone 3GS is currently stuck restoring to 4.2 from 4.1. The loading bar is a little more than half way completed and has been there for a good hour. I have tried disconnecting, restarting the phone, and restarting iTunes. I have a backup from the same day and there should not be any problems with this at all! Please Apple, can you give me a solution on how to fully restore my iPhone 3GS to 4.2 from 4.1 without any issues?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5), Intel Core 2 Duo i7 processor

1) You are not addressing Apple here. This is a peer-to-peer forum.
2) There is no official way to revert to a previous version of the iOS.
Restoring will only restore the backup of your data on the most current version of iOS. The backup does not include the iOS.
