My iPhone 3GS is currently stuck restoring to 4.2 from 4.1. The loading bar is a little more than half way completed and has been there for a good hour. I have tried disconnecting, restarting the phone, and restarting iTunes. I have a backup from the same day and there should not be any problems with this at all! Please Apple, can you give me a solution on how to fully restore my iPhone 3GS to 4.2 from 4.1 without any issues?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5), Intel Core 2 Duo i7 processor

The "Contact Us" link at the bottom right of this page, or by visiting a local Apple store and it's Genius bar.

    1) You are not addressing Apple here. This is a peer-to-peer forum.
    2) There is no official way to revert to a previous version of the iOS.
Restoring will only restore the backup of your data on the most current version of iOS. The backup does not include the iOS.

I think diesel vdub has misunderstood - you are trying to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 not downgrade unofficially. The best way to upgrade is to put your phone into DFU mode and restore the firmware that way. Then after it is done, restore from a backup. A nice instructional video can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofpinyGlQ8I

Well how do i address Apple? I've been restoring and restoring while also restarting both my iPhone 3GS and my computer. To clear it up I'm trying to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2. I also tried whats on that video and I have been doing that.
