"Blue Screen of Death" in Boot camp on Macbook Pro i5, Windows 7 64

Hi there,
when running bootcamp I get BSOD (0x0000007F and automatic reboot) about 5 or 10 times a day.
I am running Windows 7 64 bits, and I have tried with different Nvidia drivers (260.99 and 257) but the problem always comes back.
What can I do? Is this a common problem?

Most likely, Apple HFS read-only, which is AppleHFS.sys and AppleMNT.sys - rename those and see.

You might want to run chkdsk after all this to make sure there are no errors with the drive and file system.

Windows Explorer will not accept HFS+ filenames with special characters and will "green bar" and hang when it does, too.

The faulty HFS driver is a valid concern.

Rename AppleHFS.sys and AppleMNT.sys

By doing the following you will disable HFS mount / read mode on windows XP, Vista, 7.

Navigate to c:/windows/system32/drivers/AppleMNT.sys, rename the AppleMNT.sys file to something like AppleMNT_keep.sys or something of your likings.

The faulty HFS driver is a valid concern. It seems to happen on many systems.
You find it in Windows/system32/drivers/ AppleHFS.sys

Renaming to AppleHFS_disabled.sys will avoid the blue screens until you have found another solution or Apple updates Bootcamp 3

After renaming both myself because they are no longer "*.sys" or something? they are gone. In my case AppleHFS prevented Windows Backup from running to end and was causing error "some files skipped" and while some might find reading convenient, I prefer Windows not have even read-only access.

You can probably do better with MacDrive, or probably Paragon's HFS driver, to read AND write if needed, to HFS from Windows.

I was struggling with this same thing. I did a clean Boot Camp install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Right away, I started getting blue screen STOP errors (0x0A, 0x07, 0x03), basically, all kinds of BSOD fun.

I took the advice above and rebooted into Windows 7, renamed those two files (which are found under C:\Windows\system32\drivers). I just put a _DNU (for do not use) on the end of the files.

Next, I went to NVIDIA's website and downloaded the most up-to-date graphics driver for my MacBook Pro i7, which also installs the latest NVIDIA HD Audio driver too.

Since then it has been absolutely smooth sailing!

Oh so I thought it was gone for good. I renamed the files, but did not uninstall MacDrive 8 which was there already. No crash for about a week, but now It's crashing again. I did not notice any file name when it crashes, and it seems to happen at random times, no obvious pattern there. And last time it crashed, it also messed up my Mac HD because when I booted in Mac OS I had the grey progress bar an it took a good 15 minutes to start. And Disk Utility tells me to repair the HD...
