Airprint, can I print away from a local wi fi network, i.e. remotely?

Will AP only work in my local wifi environment? or, can I print remotely away from that wifi envrionment, back to my printers via an IP address?

If you know the IP address of the printer and it is accessible via external network and the printer natively supports AirPrint, you might want to try AirPrint Proxy 😀

One big advantages of this solution is that the printers are accessible via iPhone and iPad.

dcginc,

If you know what you are doing, you can add your Printer to your DNS server for supporting Wide Area Bonjour, but there is no way at the moment to enter an IP address manually into an iOS device for printing. There is some discussion on my [FAQ|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2658625&tstart=0] thread about this, but unfortunately I can't go into more detail.

Just trying to help.

Andrew
