Samsung printer connected thru Bonjour "problem communicating"

Samsung ML-2510 printer, Mac OS 10.4.11
Printer added through Bonjour. I try to print, the PRINTER'S LIGHT flashes green showing it's processing a document. Last time the printer even "fired up", the motor started running which it otherwise only does when it's actually printing.
After a few seconds I get an error in a "Samsung ML-2510 series" window saying "there is a problem connecting to the printer. Please make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the computer."
Appreciate any help...thanks.

eMac 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 1 GB DDR SDRAM; FCP 5.0.4; QT 7.4.1 (14)
