Itunes 10.1.1, Home sharing: Show: Items not in my Library

iTunes Home sharing's feature to only show items not in my library used to work great, allowing me to keep two large libraries in sync. But after 10.1, my main library can no longer seem to sort out what items are unique in connected libraries. Has something changed? Has anyone noticed change for the worse in the behavior of Home Sharing with respect to showing items not in the local library?

Mac OS X (10.6.5)

It looks like it may have been a 10.1 vs a 10.1.1 client issue. Anyone else see anything like this?

I discovered it last week when trying to sync up my two libraries. Any news on if this was an intended change by apple or a bug?

I have the same issue, but it is selective. The "items not in library" only shows a few of the items truly not in my library. Visually comparing libraries between my two Macs show there are 68 files that are not on my secondary machine. Seems to be worse with movies and TV shows than music.

Saw this Genius solution in another thread. Specifically, I turned off Genius on both machines, turned off home sharing on both after the Genius results deleted and then turned Home Sharing back on. Worked perfect, showed all items that were not in library. Worth a try.

not that I'm blaming you, but I just came across this, tried it, and now it is worse. I had about 16 items that were saying weren't in my two libraries, now it is hundreds. So frustrating.

I had forgot to turn genius back on.

does anyone know if you have to leave genius on both computers once you do this?

This procedure worked for me too. Using iTunes 12 Yosemite 🙂 Thanks. I hope I don't have to do that each time I want to synch the iTunes programs.
