Pro Res LT Codec delivers APCS codec HELP a Noob!

Hello All,

Model Name: iMac
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processors: 2.8 Ghz
Memory: 4GB
Bus Speed: 800MHz

FCP 7.0.3

XD Cam Transfer 2.11.0

OK Here is what happened:

Shot 2.5 Hours footage on a Sony XD Cam EX on one Clip
HD 1920x1080 24p (23.98fps) Psf 48kHz

Imported into FCP using XD Cam Xfer software:
XDCAM EX 1080p24 (35 Mb/s VBR)

My FCP Sequence Settings were:
Apple ProRes 422 (LT) 1920x1080 24p 48kHz

When I exported using Quicktime Movie NOT Quicktime Conversion

I checked the .MOV and here is the description settings using Quicktime 7

Dimensions: 1920x1080
Codecs: apcs, Linear PCM, Timecode,Text
Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)
Duration: 03:31:28
Audio Channels: 2
Total bit rate: 79,521

Size: 126.15 GB

So my question is why is the codec not Apple ProRes 422 and instead HD (1-1-1)
any help would be much appreciated. I LOVE details so as much explanation as you want would be great.

Mac OS X (10.6.5)

I checked the QT 7 settings:

Dimensions: 1920x1080
Codecs: apcs, Linear PCM, Timecode,Text
Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)
Duration: 03:31:28
Audio Channels: 2
Total bit rate: 79,521

How could I import directly rather than transcode? (Forgive my ignorance) Would that mean I literally used the files from the Harddrive instead of importing using the XD Cam Transfer. The settings in the XD Cam Transfer were to use only installed codecs to import the .Mov files. The files that FCP 7 were using were the imported clips from XD Cam Transfer and were .Mov files.

However one thing that I did which I forgot to mention was drag the BPAV Folder which includes all the sub .MP4 clips and the XLM and CLPR metadata into the same master folder that the XDCam Xfer software was importing the .Mov files with the description listed at the top of this post simultaneously.

However I told XD Transfer software to "send files to FCP after Import" so I'm assuming the files I was working with in FCP were the .Mov files imported and not the .MP4 "mini" files that were dragged and dropped from the BPAV folder on the actual digital HD from the Sony XDCAM EX PMW-EX1R HD's.

the sequence settings in the FCP project are:

Frame Size: 1920x1080 (HDTV 1080i 16:9) NOT Anamorphic 16:9
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
Field Dominance: None
Editing Timebase: 23.98
QT Video Settings:
Compressor: Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
Quality 100%

Audio Settings;
Rate: 48kHz
Depth: 16-bit
Config: Channel Grouped

Under the Video Processing tab I had rendered in 10-bit YUV
Maximum white as white
Motion Filtering Quality as normal.

Is that what you meant by timeline (sequence)?
